Ben Attends the Launch of For Purpose’s Not-For-Profit Graduate Programme

Our graduate marketing assistant, Ben, had the great pleasure of attending the official launch of the For Purpose Not-for-Profit Graduate Programme at the gradireland Graduate Careers Fair 2018. To mark the launch, For Purpose spent the day at the RDS talking to students and graduates about the programme. For Purpose was received positively by every graduate and student spoken to on the day. Based on the number of people spoken to, there appears to be a significant demand for graduate entry points into the sector. For Purpose are aiming to address this demand. Ben, who is himself a graduate on the programme, said he was “blown away by the number of students and graduates with a keen interest in joining the non-profit sector [and that] it’s very encouraging for the sector going forward”.

Ben was also given the honour of joining a panel discussion alongside Darren Ryan, CEO of Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, Mary Van Lieshout, Head of Ethics & Compliance with GOAL and Hugh O’Reilly, Head of Development with The Wheel. During the discussion, the panellists shared some interesting insights with the audience on their motivations and experiences of working in the not-for-profit sector.

These are exciting times for the not-for-profit sector in Ireland. The first For Purpose campaign will commence in January 2019, so for more information on this and to see For Purpose’s plans going forward, see www.forpurpose.ie
