Building Resilience Training day

Recently the Ag Eisteacht team took part in a ‘Building Resilience’ training day delivered by Karen Maher of the Health Management Institute of Ireland. Ag Eisteacht believes that regular team training and development is a crucial factor in ensuring staff members are up-to-date with the most recent evidence-based knowledge and that opportunities are provided for new learning.

Resilience is a very relevant topic at the moment. In today’s high-pressured, fast-paced and continuously changing workplace we are continuously being challenged. Although we cannot avoid these challenges, we can learn to identify and manage these, whilst bouncing-back from set-backs more effectively

One of the Key Messages from the training was that:

A primary force in developing & maintaining resilience is caring and supportive relationships.

This is something that Ag Eisteacht recognises and is passionate about. How can front line workers help their clients be more resilient? Empowering clients to better deal with conflict in their relationships is likely to mean that their relationships will be more supportive. Our How to Argue Better Training looks at inter-parental conflict and how to manage it more effectively, thus protecting the parental relationship and children from the negative effects of destructive conflict.

We are excited to incorporate what we learnt about resilience into our training courses and to continue to develop as a resilient organisation.
