As you may know Ag Eisteacht’s CEO Maeve Hurley is a GP by profession & worked in general practice in both Cork & the UK. It was during Maeve’s time in the UK that she became interested in relational well-being & how it can enhance a front-line practitioner’s work with patients.
In turn Maeve delivers short sessions to trainee GP’s in U.C.C. The aims of these sessions which are delivered to students in 2nd, 3rd & 4th year are to:
•Raise awareness of the impact of relational well-being on health
•Discuss the role of the GP in supporting relationships and the competencies involved
Maeve thoroughly enjoys delivering these short workshops. Three have been completed so far this year, with three more planned for Spring.
If you are a health care professional interested in applying a relational approach to your work, we are running an ABLE Open Course in Cork beginning on the 27th of February. Contact us via phone on 021-5005915 or email [email protected] for further information.
