National Strategy for the CVC Sector

Last week members of the Ag Eisteacht team were delighted to receive an email from The Wheel which contained news of a very positive development for the community, voluntary and charity (CVC) sector.

The Minister for Housing, Community, Planning & Local Government Simon Coveney TD has signalled the beginning of a process to develop a national strategy for the community, voluntary and charity sector.

Ag Eisteacht recently altered our policies to ensure we comply with The Governance Code (Type B) for the Community, Voluntary and Charitable Sector in Ireland. The team recognise the importance of a clear framework and strategy to support the community and voluntary sector.

We believe this is an important step towards repairing confidence in the CVC sector and look forward to hearing of future developments. As demands for services provided by community, voluntary and charitable organisations is rising, the work done by organisations such as The Wheel in campaigning for such policies to be implemented is invaluable.
