Our ABLE evidence-informed training model is there to support you so that you can support those who turn to you for help.
Together, these four little letters provide you with the framework, insight, skills and knowledge to empower others while minding yourself too.
Adopting a relational approach
Recognising that the relationship with a patient or service user is a critical aspect of ensuring patient safety and better health outcomes.
Build and boundary
Managing boundaries is an aspect of daily practice that is often a stressor. How do we make time and give patients a sense that they are valued as a unique human being while looking after ourselves also?
Listening actively and reflectively, focusing attention on the inner nature of the person and connecting with their current inner experience can help us to become more attuned and patients more empowered.
Empower and end
Ways of flagging that the brief intervention is coming to an end and summarising where we have gotten to is a part of this. This is about action planning and leaving the door open for future encounters to check in with the patient help to ensure that both practitioner and the client have a clear vision ahead.
Our next 3 Day ABLE Training will take place in Cork on September 17th & October 1st & 2nd. Booking is now open via Eventbrite or you can contact Stacey at [email protected] or 021-4356556 for further information.
