Although now fully booked, a waiting list for the ‘Reconnecting with the heart of frontline practice’ seminar on Thursday 26th November 2020 is now open in case of any cancellations.
Over 70 frontline practitioners have signed up to this event which aims to provide a safe space for participants to reflect on how their work is impacting on them. These include doctors, nurses, midwives and other healthcare professionals as well as teachers, social workers and practitioners in community-based roles.
The event will include a series of simulating addresses including a keynote speech – ‘Also human – the inner lives of frontline practitioners’ – by Dr Caroline Elton, occupational and counselling psychologist and author of ‘Also human – the inner lives of doctors.’
This collaborative event by Jim Sheehan from SHEP, Dr Nicola O’ Sullivan and Ag Eisteacht is one of a series of initiatives to stimulate a national conversation about supporting people in frontline roles.
A series of five nourishing and inspirational workshops in the afternoon session will include ‘Journey into Mindfulness/Meditation’, a workshop facilitated by Sr Stanislaus Kennedy, when she will lead participants in a meditation practice on finding stillness.
