Following the recent press release by The Children’s Rights Alliance the Ag Eisteacht team welcomes the child homelessness summit which was led by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Dr Katherine Zappone. The Minister is well placed to address the issues surrounding the use of commercial hotels to house families, and the problem of requests for Domestic Violence accommodation going unmet because refuges are over-crowded.
A Study done by the Children’s research centre in Trinity College Dublin, shows that there is a clear link betweenfamily relationship breakdown and youth homelessness. Our training can help with the youth homelessness crisis, as it adopts a relational approach- raising awareness of the importance of quality relationships as a key determinant of health and well-being. 100% of participants working in the homeless sector found our Brief Encounters® training relevant to practice and reported increased levels of knowledge, skills and confidence in dealing with distressed clients.
